Roc Oil plugs, abandons MAW-1 well in Angola

Oct 8 (Reuters) - Australian oil company Roc Oil Co Ltd (ROC.L) (ROC.AX) on Wednesday said it had plugged and abandoned its MAW-1 appraisal well in the Cabinda South Block, Angola.

The company, which operates the well with a 60 percent interest, said preliminary data from MAW-1 confirmed a heavy oil column and reservoir parameters as predicted.

Roc Oil said it would continue with the drilling of a second appraisal well before operations are suspended prior to the onset of the rainy season. (Reporting by Srikanth Srinivasa in Bangalore; edited by Simon Jessop)
