Russia may cut Ukraine gas supply by a quarter
MOSCOW, Feb 11 (Reuters) - Russian gas export monopoly Gazprom (GAZP.MM) will cut supplies to Ukraine by a quarter from Tuesday morning if no deal over debts for previous supplies is reached, Gazprom's spokesman said on Monday.
Sergei Kupriyanov told Ekho Moskvy radio station Gazprom would cut supplies of Russian-produced gas while continuing to supply gas that originates from Central Asia. "That (the Russian gas) represents around 25 percent of our gas supplies to Ukraine," he said.
He also said any new deal with Ukraine was possible only if the debt was repaid in full. (Reporting by Dmitry Zhdannikov; editing by Christian Lowe)
