Maurel says Gabon Onal results better than expected

PARIS, March 14 (Reuters) - French oil company Maurel & Prom (MAUP.PA) said on Friday that its Onal-901 development well in Gabon was producing better than expected results.

"The Onal-901 development well to the south of the reservoir has shown oil output at a much higher level than has been indicated in the wells tested hitherto," Maurel said.

In November, Maurel & Prom posted a 7 percent fall in third- quarter sales.
