LONDON, April 24 (Reuters) - Some 45,000 barrels per day of Libyan offshore oil production has been halted due to a technical problem and could be off line for a few weeks, the head of Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC) said on Thursday.

Shokri Ghanem, head of NOC, told Reuters the disruption occurred at a well in the al-Jurf block, operated jointly by NOC and France's Total (TOTF.PA), on Tuesday.

"Production of 45,000 barrels a day has been stopped. This will be the case for a few weeks," he told Reuters. "We have a team working there, so hopefully soon we will bring back the production."

There was no immediate comment from Total. (Reporting by Alex Lawler)
