Nigeria oil union extends deadline for Chevron deal
LAGOS, Oct 2 (Reuters) - Nigerian blue-collar oil workers' union NUPENG said on Thursday it had extended a deadline for threatened strike action over a labour disupte at U.S. oil firm Chevron (CVX.N) until next Wednesday.
"The deadline was supposed to expire on Wednesday. But because of the public holidays and to give room for dialogue, we extended the deadline to next Wednesday," said Williams Akporeha, NUPENG head in the oil hub of Warri where the dispute is centred.
