MOSCOW, Dec 4 (Reuters) - Russia has delayed its plan to reduce gas flaring to 5 percent by three years to 2014, Russia's Natural Resources Minister Yuri Trutnev said on Thursday.

Both the Energy and Natural Resources ministries have decided to postpone the target, Trutnev told reporters.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin had previously set a 2011 deadline. Russia has said it flares nearly $13 billion of gas each year. (Reporting by Vladimir Soldatkin, writing by Amie Ferris-Rotman, editing by Tanya Mosolova)
