DNO expects Iraq oil export deal in Q2
LONDON, March 10 (Reuters) - DNO International (DNO.OL) expects Iraq's government and the Kurdish regional leadership to agree a deal that would allow DNO to export crude oil from its Kurdish fields in the coming months, Chief Executive Helge Eide said on Tuesday.
"It would be very difficult to see it dragging on beyond the second quarter," Eide told Reuters in an interview.
The Norwegian oil exploration company discovered large volumes of oil in the Kurdish region but faces the prospect of not being able to bring the crude to market.
Eide also said that he expected the new board of Norwegian North Sea-focused oil company Det norske oljeselskap (DETNOR.OL), in which DNO has stake of around 25 percent, to come up with a new strategy in the coming months.
If Detnor does not come up with a convincing strategy for expanding through the acquisition of fields DNO may sell its stake. (Reporting by Tom Bergin; Editing by Greg Mahlich)
