TORONTO, Nov 6 (Reuters) - Hovensa LLC said on Friday that repairs on the 150,000 barrel-per-day gasoline-making fluid catalytic cracking unit at its 500,000 bpd refinery in St. Croix, the Virgin Islands, have been completed and restart of the unit has begun.

"Please be advised that the repairs of the catcracker have been completed and the start-up of the unit has begun," said Alex Moorhead, a spokesman for the refinery, which is a joint-venture between Hess Corp (HES.N) and Venezuelan state oil company, PDVSA.

The unit went down for unplanned work on Oct. 26 and was due to return to service on Nov. 6. (Reporting by Janet McGurty).
