MONTREAL, Feb 5 (Reuters) - Canadian Oil Sands Trust (COS_u.TO), which owns the biggest stake in the Syncrude Canada oil sands venture, said on Tuesday crude oil production from the 350,000 barrel per day Syncrude facility had resumed.

The output rate was roughly 180,000 barrels a day, or 66,000 barrels a day net to the Trust.

Bitter winter weather in the Fort McMurray region of northern Alberta had frozen instruments at the oil sands project on Jan. 29, halting production.

Most of the units affected by the Jan. 29 incident have returned to operation and Syncrude is working on bringing the remaining units back up, Canadian Oil Sands Trust said.

Syncrude is the world's largest producer of synthetic crude oil.

The other partners in Syncrude, located north of Fort McMurray, are Imperial Oil Ltd (IMO.TO), Petro-Canada (PCA.TO), ConocoPhillips (COP.N), Nexen Inc (NXY.TO), Nippon Oil Corp (5001.T) unit Mocal Energy Ltd and Murphy Oil Corp (MUR.N).
