UPDATE 1-Exxon says restoring output to pre-storm levels
(Adds background)
HOUSTON, Aug 6 (Reuters) - Exxon Mobil (XOM.N) said on Wednesday it was restoring its offshore production after inspections of Gulf of Mexico production facilities found no damage from Tropical Storm Edouard.
All workers have been returned to the offshore, Exxon said in a statement.
On Tuesday, Exxon said 8,600 barrels per day (bpd) in oil production and 25 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) in natural gas output was shut by the storm.
Edouard came ashore near Port Arthur, Texas, on Tuesday morning after churning through the northern Gulf of Mexico on Sunday and Monday.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center downgraded Edouard to a tropical depression on Tuesday night as it moved over central Texas. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by Marguerita Choy)
