Chevron says some platforms toppled by Hurricane Ike

NEW YORK, Sept 16 (Reuters) - Chevron Corp (CVX.N) said Tuesday that several of its platforms in the Gulf of Mexico were toppled by Hurricane Ike.

"Reconnaissance flights indicate that some platforms have been affected, with several reported as toppled in the eastern and western shelf areas," the company said in a press release. (Reporting by Richard Valdmanis; Editing by John Picinich)
