Indian shares rise more than 1 pct in early deals

MUMBAI, Dec 19 (Reuters) - Indian shares rose more than 1 percent in early deals on Wednesday, led by Reliance Industries (RELI.BO) and Housing Development Finance Corp (HDFC.BO).

At 9:57 a.m. (0427 GMT), the 30-share BSE index .BSESN was up 1.39 percent, or 265.62 points, at 19,345.26, with 27 components rising.

The index opened 0.92 percent up and rose as much as 1.67 percent in early deals.

The 50-issue NSE index was up 1.34 percent at 5,819.15. (Reporting by Devidutta Tripathy, editing by John Mair)
