Indian shares open 1.18 pct up on firm Asia
MUMBAI, Feb 21 (Reuters) - Indian shares opened 1.18 percent higher on Thursday, boosted by firm Asian markets, with top listed firm Reliance Industries Ltd (RELI.BO: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) and infrastructure play Larsen & Toubro Ltd (LART.BO: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) leading the gains.
At 9:55 a.m. (0425 GMT), the 30-share BSE index .BSESN was up 207.62 points at 17,825.22.
The 50-issue NSE index gained 1.29 percent to 5,220.70. (Reporting by Hiral Vora; Editing by John Mair)
