STANDARD CHARTERED (STAN.L) (2888.HK)
The Asia-focussed bank completed the acquisition of First Africa Group Holdings Ltd and appointed Kofi Adjepong-Boateng as the head of its Strategic Client Coverage Group for Africa. Kofi was earlier the chief executive of First Africa.
The bank also named Stephen Priestley as managing director, head of corporate advisory, Africa, and said he would succeed Adjepong-Boateng as CEO of First Africa. Priestley was earlier managing director for J.P.Morgan's sub-Saharan business.
RBC Capital Markets
The corporate and investment banking arm of the Royal Bank of Canada (RY.TO) (RY.N) appointed Carmine Meoli as head of private banking solutions sales, along with Arif Hussein and Peter Drewienkiewicz, both of whom join as directors in RBC's Rates Sales and Trading team.
Meoli, who was most recently with ABN Amro and Deutsche Bank (DBKGn.DE), will join RBC in London. Hussein was earlier head of sterling swaps, while Drewienkiewicz was executive director in fixed income rates derivatives with UBS (UBSN.VX).
RBC WEALTH MANAGEMENT
The asset management segment of the Royal Bank of Canada (RY.TO) appointed Keith Pearse as head of human resources for its international arm. Pearse, who is to be based in RBC Wealth Management's Jersey office, was previously head of human resources for RBC Wealth Management in the British Isles.
Pearse will also join the company's international executive committee.
CATTLES PLC (CTT.L)
The British subprime lender sacked Finance Director James Corr, Chief Operating Officer Ian Cummine and four other senior executives at its direct distribution car retailer Welcome Financial Services, following an independent audit into some systemic accounting errors.
It said Chief Executive David Postings was leaving the company.
Margaret Young, chair of the audit committee, would be taking over as executive chairman, while Robert East would join the board as chief restructuring officer and lead discussions with banks and bondholders, the company said. To read more, double click [ID:nL1598690]
SUNCORP-METWAY LTD (SUN.AX)
Australia's second-biggest car and home insurer appointed Patrick Snowball as its new chief executive, effective Sept 1. Snowball had previously held senior positions at British insurance groups Aviva Plc (AV.L) and Towergate. [ID:nSYU006773]
IPC HOLDINGS LTD (IPCR.O)
The company said President and Chief Executive James Bryce retired, effective June 30. The board appointed current Chief Financial Officer John Weale as president and interim chief executive.
EXECUTION LTD
The agency broker appointed Richard Archbold as a salestrader to the firm's London office. Archbold was earlier a senior European equity salestrader at Exane Ltd.
IK INVESTMENT PARTNERS
