Indian financial markets closed for holiday

MUMBAI, Dec 21 (Reuters) - Indian financial markets are closed on Friday for a public holiday. Trading resumes on Monday.

The benchmark 30-share BSE index .BSESN rose 0.4 percent on Thursday to 19,162.57, led by software services stocks such as Infosys Technologies Ltd (INFY.BO).

The partially convertible rupee INR=IN ended at 39.54/55 per dollar, strengthening from the previous close of 39.59/60.

The yield on the federal 10-year bond IN079917G=CC ended at 7.87 percent, a tad off the previous close of 7.88 percent, while overnight cash rates INROND= ended at 4.0-4.25 percent, compared with 7.75-7.80 percent at close on Wednesday. (Reporting by Mumbai Bureau)
