FINANCIAL NEWS:

TUOI TRE

-- Commercial banks should avoid expanding lending too fast while their deposit raising has slowed since May this year, State Bank of Vietnam Governor Nguyen Van Giau said.

THOI BAO KINH TE VIETNAM -- Bao Viet Holdings BVH.HM said it would raise its registered capital to 6.28 trillion dong ($352 million) after selling 53.68 million shares to HSBC Insurance.

-- Lending by banks in Vietnam for real estate investment has risen 20 percent so far this year to 166.5 trillion dong ($9.3 billion) while loans for stock investment have doubled to 11.9 trillion dong, which is normal, given the current economic situation, the central bank said.
