Hong Kong stocks rise, but Dongfang Elec slides

HONG KONG, May 16 (Reuters) - Hong Kong stocks rose 0.6 percent on Friday on the back of firmer global equities, but Dongfang Electric (1072.HK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) fell nearly 12 percent on news that its production was seriously damaged by the earthquake in China. The benchmark Hang Seng Index .HSI opened up 151.93 points at 25,665.64. The China Enterprises Index of Hong Kong-listed companies .HSCE, or H shares, had risen 0.6 percent by 0202 GMT. (Reporting by Alison Leung; Editing by Anne Marie Roantree)
