KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 26 (Reuters) - Here are news stories that may affect the Malaysian stock market on Wednesday:

ASTRO SEES CONTENT COSTS AT 30-32 PCT OF REVENUE

- Pay-TV operator Astro (AAAN.KL) expects content costs to stay within 30 to 32 percent of its revenue for the financial year ending Jan. 31, 2009, due to premium sports content, the Business Times quoted Chief Executive Rohana Rozhan as telling the newspaper.

KURNIA TO SHIFT FOCUS TO NON-MOTOR INSURANCE POLICIES

- Insurer Kurnia Asia (KURN.KL) will be shifting its focus from motor policies to non-motor policies for the coming year, the Business Times quoted Kurnia Insurans Chief Executive Kong Shu Yin as saying.

HO WAH GENTING SEEKS LISTING OF MINING UNIT IN HONG KONG

- Ho Wah Genting (HOWA.KL) said it has submitted a proposal to list its mining unit, Commerce Venture Magnesium Sdn Bhd, on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange's main board.

UMW TOYOTA SAYS CONFIDENT OF ACHIEVING SALES TARGET

- UMW Toyota, the auto distribution arm of UMW Holdings (UMWS.KL), is confident of achieving its sales target of 81,000 units by the end of this year, the Business Times said, quoting UMW Toyota Managing Director David Chen. (Reporting by Jalil Hamid and Syed Azman)
