MAYBANK BUYS INTO VIETNAM'S AN BINH BANK
- Malaysia's top lender, Maybank (MBBM.KL: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), has agreed to buy a 15 percent stake in Vietnam's An Binh Bank for 430 million ringgit ($135.2 million) in cash, Maybank said on Friday.

INSURER MAA TO SELL STAKES IN GENERAL, LIFE UNITS - PAPER
- Malaysian insurer MAA Holdings Bhd (MAAS.KL: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) plans to split its general and life insurance units and sell an equity stake in each, the Business Times said on Monday, quoting unnamed sources.
The company had dropped its original plan to sell a stake in both businesses, which were currently housed together under its main unit, Malaysian Assurance Alliance, the daily added.
Now, MAA plans to sell a stake in its general insurance unit to Malaysian financial-services group AMMB Holdings (AMMB.KL: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), the paper said, and a separate stake in its life unit. Continued...
