UPDATE 1-Malaysia MAA shares suspended pending announcement

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 10 (Reuters) - Shares of Malaysian insurance group MAA Holdings (MAAH) (MAAS.KL) were suspended from trade on Monday, ahead of the signing of an agreement with another insurance company.

MAAH said in an announcement on Bursa Malaysia that the shares were suspended pending a material announcement.

The company is scheduled to sign an agreement with AmAssurance, a subsidiary of AMMB Holdings (AMMB.KL) at 3:00 pm (0700 GMT) but details of the agreement were not available.

An MAAH spokeswoman said the suspension was related to the signing, but did not give any more details.
