No delay in Prada listing, an IPO manager says
MILAN, 7 Feb (Reuters) - Recent market turmoil will not delay the listing of Italy's luxury goods house Prada, expected this year, an executive at a bank managing the initial public offering (IPO) said on Thursday.
"In my opinion, absolutely not," Gaetano Micciche, head of Intesa Sanpaolo's (ISP.MI) corporate and investment banking division, told reporters when asked about a possible delay in the planned IPO.
"To list we will pick the right moment for the operation to be a great success, as the company, I believe, deserves. No delays," he said on the sidelines of a business event.
Banca IMI, the investment bank of the Intesa Sanpaolo group, is global coordinator and book runner for Prada's IPO together with Goldman Sachs (GS.N) and UniCredit MIB (CRDI.MI).
Prada, which has ditched listing attempts due to volatile markets, said in December that the IPO should go ahead in 2008, depending on market conditions.
Intesa Sanpaolo bought 5 percent of Prada through a capital increase of 100 million euros ($146.5 million) in 2006, valuing the entire company at 2 billion euros ($2.93 billion). (Reporting by Gianluca Semeraro; Editing by David Cowell)
