Spanish stocks - Factors to watch on Wednesday
MADRID, Sept 3 (Reuters) - The following Spanish stocks may be affected by newspaper reports and other factors on Wednesday. Reuters has not verified the newspaper reports, and cannot vouch for their accuracy:
COLONIAL (COL.MC), BANCO POPULAR (POP.MC)
Banco Popular has no plans to subscribe to any possible share issue by Spain's Colonial as the struggling property company seeks to refinance 8.9 billion euros ($12.9 billion) of debt.
The Spanish lender was responding to a Reuters story, which cited a person familiar with the situation, as saying Colonial was moving towards a debt restructuring deal that could include a cash injection from shareholders and the sale of some assets.

Separately, Spanish daily ABC reported without citing a source that Colonial has put Riofisa and its 15 percent stake in FCC (FCC.MC) up for sale.
Meanwhile, free business daily El Negocio, without citing a source, reported Colonial's creditors have demanded the company does not sell assets to refinance its debt.
IBERDROLA (IBE.MC)
New York's Public Service Commission (PSC) expected to rule on Iberdrola's proposed acquisition of Energy East EAS.N.
GAS NATURAL (GAS.MC)
The Spanish utility's 19 billion euro ($27.57 billion) loan, which backs its acquisition of a majority stake in Union Fenosa (UNF.MC) was launched to senior syndication on Tuesday, a banker close to the deal said.
