Gemina investor denies swap operation report

MILAN, Jan 25 (Reuters) - An investor in Italy's Gemina (GEMI.MI) on Friday denied a newspaper report that it was preparing rid itself of its stake in the financial holding via a swap transaction.

Italian newspaper Finanza & Mercati reported on Friday that Gemina investor Silvano Toti SpA was preparing a swap operation for its 13 percent stake in the company.

"The Toti Group denies in the most categorical way the report which is baseless," it said in a statement, adding its investment in Gemina was "strategic".
