UPDATE 1-Collins Stewart names Cotter new finance director

LONDON, June 12 (Reuters) - Collins Stewart (CLST.L) has appointed John Cotter as group finance director after his predecessor stepped down, the British mid-tier stockbroker said on Friday.

Most recently Cotter, 42, worked in a number of senior roles at the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS.L). Previously, he headed European financial, treasury and regulatory control at U.S. bank Morgan Stanley (MS.N).

Cotter will join Collins Stewart on June 23.
