India's HDFC bank shares rise after swap ratio
MUMBAI, Feb 25 (Reuters) - Shares of HDFC Bank (HDBK.BO: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), India's third-biggest lender by market value, rose more than 1 percent in opening deals after its board approved a takeover offer for Centurion Bank of Punjab Ltd. CENB.BO in an all-share deal.
At 9:57 a.m. (0427 GMT), the bank's shares were up 1.36 percent at 1,498 rupees. (Reporting by Saikat Chatterjee)
