Mexican stocks jump, boosted by US bank optimism

MEXICO CITY, July 13 (Reuters) - Mexican stocks jumped on Monday as positive comments on U.S. financials from high-profile analyst Meredith Whitney eased worries about the banking sector in the United States.

The IPC stock index .MXX rose 1.05 percent to 23,905, tracking late session gains in U.S. equity markets. (Reporting by Michael O'Boyle; Editing by Dan Grebler)
