SEOUL, July 13 (Reuters) - Seoul shares opened lower on Monday as caution pervaded ahead of an earnings report by POSCO (005490.KS), but news of an imminent trade deal with the European Union helped exporters including Hyundai Motor (005380.KS).

The Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) was down 0.31 percent at 1,424.22 points as of 0007 GMT.
