MOVES-Trafigura hires senior coal trader from Macquarie-source
PERTH, June 19 (Reuters) - A senior coal trader from Australian investment bank Macquarie Group (MQG.AX) has left the firm to join commodity trading giant Trafigura, a source with direct knowledge of the move said on Friday.
Ken Loughnan, who joined Macquarie from Rio Tinto's (RIO.AX)(RIO.L) coal division, left the bank earlier this week, the source said.
Macquarie declined to comment, while Trafigura could not be immediately reached for comment.
Swiss-headquartered Trafigura, which has been seeking a team of traders in Asia and London for the past few months, hired two senior coal trading executives from Noble Energy in May to start a physical and derivatives coal book. [ID:nLE154475] (Reporting by Fayen Wong; Editing by James Thornhill)
