Norinchukin to post $370 mln H1 subprime loss-media
TOKYO, Nov 27 (Reuters) - Japan's Norinchukin Bank is set to post 40 billion yen ($370 million) in losses linked to the U.S. subprime mortgage loan crisis for the April-September first half, media reports said on Tuesday.
Norinchukin, the unlisted main bank for the nation's agricultural cooperatives, may also book more losses in the second half, bringing its annual subprime losses to nearly 60 billion yen, broadcaster NHK and news agency Kyodo reported.
Kyodo also said, however, that the bank will post an overall net profit for April-September as other earnings offset the losses.
Norinchukin declined to comment. It will announce first-half earnings at 4 p.m. (0700 GMT) on Tuesday. (Reporting by Edwina Gibbs)
