Japan TOPIX extends losses, now down 2 percent
TOKYO, March 31 (Reuters) - Japan's broad TOPIX share index fell 2 percent on Monday as investors took profits on the last day of the fiscal year, with blue-chip exporters such as Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) vulnerable.
Mizuho Financial Group (8411.T: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) and other banks also slid.
At 0352 GMT the TOPIX was down 2.1 percent at 1,218.06 and the benchmark Nikkei average down 1.7 percent at 12,608.00. (Reporting by Elaine Lies; Editing by Hugh Lawson)
