D.Boerse says Xetra algorithmic trading rose in Q1

FRANKFURT, May 7 (Reuters) - Algorithmic trading accounted for 45 percent of trading in Deutsche Boerse's (DB1Gn.DE: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) electronic order-matching system Xetra in the first quarter, up from 39 percent in full-year 2007.

Deutsche Boerse's Chief Financial Officer Thomas Eichelmann gave the figures on Wednesday in a conference call with analysts on the group's first-quarter results. (For more on Boerse's results, see [ID:nL0617531], for a related story, see [ID:nN06513220]) (Reporting by Peter Starck)
