- ATTORNEYS TARGETTED IN CENTRAL BANK GRAFT PROBE

Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said it is expanding its investigation of a graft case at the central bank by targetting prosecutors at the Attorney General's Office.

- YUDHOYONO'S SON AND MEGAWATI'S DAUGHTER IN LEGISLATIVE RACE

Indonesia's Democratic Party named one of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's sons, Edi Baskoro Yudhoyono, as its top legislative candidate in the 2009 election, while former President Megawati Sukarnoputri's daughter, Puan Maharani, has been nominated by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle.

Catholic priest and religious freedom advocate Benny Susetyo was assaulted in South Jakarta on Monday. Susetyo is now being treated at a nearby hospital.

Indonesia's state electricity company, PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), has been asked to re-evaluate the cost of some of its projects amid rising prices of raw materials.

- JAKARTA BEGINS ACQUIRING LAND FOR MRT PROJECT

Jakarta's Public Works agency has started land acquisition for the Mass Rapid Transport project stretching from the southern outskirts of the capital to a station in the central business district, the head of the agency said.
