India's Sun Pharma ups stake in Taro to 34.4 pct
MUMBAI, Feb 20 (Reuters) - India's Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (SUN.BO: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said on Wednesday it had bought an additional 3.7 million shares, or 9.4 percent, in Israeli generic drug maker Taro Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd TAROF.PK.
The shares, purchased by an indirect subsidiary of Sun from Brandes Investment Partners, took the stake held by Sun and its subsidiaries in Taro to 34.4 percent, it said in a statement.
Sun agreed to acquire Taro in May 2007. (Reporting by Rina Chandran; Editing by John Mair)
