Bioton has new CEO, main investor eyes biotech
WARSAW, Nov 7 (Reuters) - The Head of Poland's insulin maker Bioton BOTN.WA, Janusz Guy, has stepped down and will be replaced by Slawomir Ziegert, the company said in a statement late on Friday.
Bioton's main shareholder, Ryszard Krazue, said the resignation was due to private reasons and that the company was considering selling its antibiotics arm.
"The future lies in developing biotechnology," Krauze was quoted on Saturday by daily Parkiet as saying. "The cash obtained this way we could invest in selling highly profitable insulin or other biotech products."
Krauze added he had great hopes in regard to Ziegert and wanted the company's restructuring programme to be finalised by the end of the year. Bioton is to publish its third-quarter results on Nov.16. (Writing by Gabriela Baczynska)
