Merck says visited in Europe pharmaceutical probe

NEW YORK, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Merck & Co's (MRK.N) offices in Munich were visited in connection with a broad European Commission inquiry into the pharmaceutical market, a company spokesman said on Wednesday.

The European Commission has not alleged that Merck's European unit, Merck Sharp & Dohme, has engaged in any unlawful practices, and the company is cooperating with the investigation, the spokesman said. (Reporting by Lewis Krauskopf; Editing by Derek Caney)
