AMSTERDAM, Feb 12 (Reuters) - Dutch biotechnology firm Crucell (CRCL.AS: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) (CRXL.O: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said on Tuesday it would discontinue its programme to develop a vaccine and human monoclonal antibodies for therapeutic use against West Nile.

"Crucell has come to the conclusion that the commercial and market opportunities for its West Nile products are not as attractive as other products in Crucell's pipeline," the company said in a statement.

Crucell also said to further postpone the registration submission of the Yellow Fever vaccine, called Flavimum, in Switzerland.

Crucell said it would focus on its MoRuViraten vaccine for Measles/Rubella, which is produced in the same facility as Flavimun. (Reporting by Harro ten Wolde)
