Glaxo cuts further 200 UK manufacturing jobs
LONDON, Dec 3 (Reuters) - GlaxoSmithKline Plc (GSK.L) is cutting a further 200 jobs at a factory in north east England that makes its anti-nausea drug Zofran, a company spokeswoman said on Wednesday.
The latest job cuts -- which follow plans to axe 620 positions in the south of England last month -- reflect a need to realign production in the face of patent expiries. Zofran is an older Glaxo medicine now facing generic competition. (Reporting by Ben Hirschler)
