July 13 (Reuters) - British social housing services company Mears Group Plc (MERG.L) said it received a 200 million pounds ($322.6 million), 10-year contract to carry out housing stock upgrades, repairs and maintenance services.
The contract from Brighton & Hove City Council, which manages 12,500 homes, will start in early 2010, Mears said in a statement.
The new contract adds to Mears' existing contract, which provides responsive and void repairs together with gas servicing, the company said.
"Mears has gained significant contract wins of 400 million pounds since April 2009 and has a strong pipeline of contract bids," Chief Executive Bob Holt said in a statement.
Shares of the company were up 1.75 percent at 232 pence at 0711 GMT on the London Stock Exchange. ($1=.6200 Pound) (Reporting by Shivani Singh in Bangalore; Editing by Gopakumar Warrier)
