HONG KONG ECONOMIC TIMES

- Hong Kong stocks are added variables as the central government is tightened its macro-control on the booming mainland economy. Correction is expected and the support may be found with the Hang Seng Index at the 27,500 point level.

APPLE DAILY

- The local banking sector believes Hong Kong lenders will likely follow suit if the US Federal Reserve cuts interest rate after this week's review.

MING PAO DAILY NEWS

- A green survey has found that one quarter of those who celebrate Christmas typically do not like most of the gifts they receive and that some of the new items would be stored away or be thrown away. Most of these items are considered non-practical such as key chains, photo frames and stuffed toys, etc.

SING TAO DAILY

- Ping An Insurance (2318.HK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said the total amount of premiums collected through its four subsidiaries was 91.6 billion yuan for the first 11 months of the year, up 10 percent compared with the amount for the first ten months.  Continued...
