- CEMENT GRESIK STRUGGLES TO ACQUIRE LAND FOR NEW PLANT

The country's largest cement maker, PT Semen Gresik Tbk (SMGR.JK), is facing a tough task negotiating with residents to acquire land for its new cement plant in the Central Java town of Pati, and may have to find other locations.

Indonesia's oil and gas watchdog, BPMigas, said it is aiming to boost the country's oil output this year by an additional 60,000 barrels per day helped by nine new oil fields, which are mostly scheduled to start operating this year.

Indonesian aviation services company, Cardig International, said it plans to invest $100 million at Batam's international airport to set up a maintenance facility.

Indonesia's parliament has given its approval for a new government electricity subsidy scheme whereby households and offices with an electricity load of higher than 6,600 watts would pay a higher tariff.
