Russia clears Finmeccanica to buy into Sukhoi Civil
MOSCOW, Jan 14 (Reuters) - Russia has allowed Finmeccanica (SIFI.MI) subsidiary Alenia Aeronautica to buy 25 percent plus one share in aircraft maker Sukhoi Civil Aircraft, President Vladimir Putin's press office said on Monday.
Alenia Aeronautica, an aircraft component and aerostructure manufacturer, last year signed a deal to buy the strategic blocking stake in the Russian company for $250 million.
The deal also includes support for the Superjet programme, which foresees construction of the Superjet 100 regional aircraft aimed to replace Russia's ageing Soviet-made fleet of Tu-134 and Yak-42 planes on domestic routes.
Sukhoi Civil Aircraft is controlled by state-run Sukhoi corporation, which also produces fighter aircraft. (Writing by Maria Kiselyova; Editing by David Holmes)
