Acciona confirms talks to refinance Endesa debt
MADRID, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Spanish builder Acciona (ANA.MC) confirmed on Tuesday it was in talks with creditors to refinance debt related to the purchase of its Endesa stake, but denied that it has already committed to selling the stake in 2010.
A report on financial Web site El Confidencial on Tuesday said that Acciona has assured its creditors that it will exercise its option to sell the 25 percent in Endesa to Italian partner Enel (ENEI.MI) in 2010.
The sale was part of an agreement with Banco Santander (SAN.MC) not to link Endesa's share price to collateral required for the 7 billion euro ($8.92 billion) loan it received for the stake buy, the report said.
"Acciona has not committed to exercising the March 27, 2010 put option but that does not mean that the company will not exercise it on that date or at a later date," the Spanish builder said in a statement to the stock market regulator.
Its loan for the Endesa buy is currently fully backed and it has no need to provide further collateral, it said. ($1=.7844 euros) (Reporting by Carlos Ruano; Writing by Tracy Rucinski; Editing by Greg Mahlich)
