Peru labor ministry declares mining strike illegal
LIMA, July 2 (Reuters) - Peru's Labor Ministry on Wednesday declared a nationwide mining strike illegal, a ruling that the government normally makes during walkouts to persuade strikers to return to work.
The ruling would allow companies to eventually fire workers if they fail to return to their jobs within a week or two. (Reporting by Marco Aquino)
