NEW YORK, May 21 (Reuters) - Building maintenance supply company W.W. Grainger Inc (GWW.N) said on Wednesday it was interested in expansion in Central America, in addition to Mexico, Canada and China.

The company, which distributes products such as adhesives, hardware, power tools and shelving, also told the Electrical Products Group's annual conference that it will open a branch in Panama this summer.

The company said it will increase the number of branches it operates in Mexico and aims to be the first "national player" there.

In Canada, Grainger is targeting growth in the eastern part of the country. (Reporting by Helen Chernikoff, editing by Gerald E. McCormick and John Wallace)
