NEW YORK, Oct 26 (Reuters) - Exelon Corp's (EXC.N) 1,043-megawatt Clinton nuclear power station in Illinois exited an outage and ramped up to 50 percent power by early Monday, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission said in a report.

The unit shut by Oct. 15.

Clinton, which entered service in 1987, is located in Clinton in DeWitt County, about 160 miles southwest of Chicago.

One MW powers about 800 homes in Illinois.

Exelon, of Chicago, owns and operates more than 38,000 MW of generating capacity, markets energy commodities, and transmits and distributes electricity to about 5.4 million customers in northern Illinois and southeast Pennsylvania and natural gas to about 480,000 the Philadelphia area.
