STOCKHOLM, Oct 7 (Reuters) - Scandinavian airline SAS (SAS.ST) said on Wednesday its passenger traffic fell 17.7 percent in September from the same month a year earlier.

SAS said its passenger load factor -- a measure of how successful it was filling its seats -- was unchanged from a year earlier at 70.6 percent.

The airline, half-owned by Sweden, Norway and Denmark, said its yield in August -- the most recent month for which data is available -- was down 8.8 percent.

For September, the change in yield is expected to develop negatively with further pressure ahead, SAS said.
