Samsung Heavy wins $2.4 bln drillship, rig orders
SEOUL, Dec 24 (Reuters) - South Korea's Samsung Heavy Industries Co (010140.KS: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said on Monday it has won orders totalling 2.27 trillion won ($2.41 billion) from Russia, Africa and the Americas.
The shipbuilder said in a filing with the Korea Exchange that it would build two semi-submersible floating drilling rigs for an unidentified Russian company for 1.08 trillion won.
In a separate filing, Samsung also said it would make two drillships worth a combined 1.19 trillion won for companies in Africa and the Americas, without naming the partners. ($1=940.2 Won) (Reporting by Rhee So-eui, Editing by Yoo Choonsik)
