S.Korea's DC Chemical wins $239 mln Taiwan order
SEOUL, April 7 (Reuters) - South Korea's DC Chemical Co (010060.KS: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said on Monday it had won a 233.0 billion won ($239.3 million) order to supply polysilicon to Taiwan's Wafer Works Corporation.
The contract covers the period between January 2009 and December 2016, DC Chemical said in a filing to the Korea Exchange.
Tight supplies of polysilicon, which turns sunlight into electricity inside solar cells, have pushed up costs in the sector, although market analysts expect that shortage to begin to abate later this year. ($1=973.5 Won) (Reporting by Lee Jin-joo; Editing by Edmund Klamann)
