SHANGHAI, Aug 28 (Reuters) - China's Angang Steel Co Ltd (000898.SZ)(0347.HK) has halted production at two blast furnaces after an explosion on Monday, a local occupational safety agency said.

There were no casualties from the explosion, the Liaoning Administration of Work Safety said in a statement released on Wednesday.

The halted blast furnaces were the company's largest, with daily production capacity of more than 7,500 tonnes of pig iron each, the company has said.

Representatives from the company could not immediately be reached for comment.

Angang Steel is the listed unit of the country's fifth-largest steel maker.

The accident is not likely to have a significant impact on the company's output of crude steel and steel products, as it would be able to outsource pig iron and billets to maintain production, Daiwa Securities analyst Helen Lau said.

"The production loss will depend on how long the company takes to fix the blast furnaces. But given the total 16 million tonnes of annual capacity at Angang, the impact should not be material," she added. (Reporting by Alfred Cang; Editing by Edmund Klamann)
