Malaysia's Sarawak plans 3 bln rgt Islamic bonds-paper
SINGAPORE, March 17 (Reuters) - Malaysia's power firm Sarawak Energy Bhd (SEB) (SARA.KL: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) is expected to sell 3 billion ringgit ($949.4 million) of Islamic bonds to finance a 900 megawatts hydroelectric power plant in Murum, the Business Times reported on Monday quoting an unidentified source.
SEB, the Sarawak state electricity producer and distributor, also plans to invite tenders for the construction of the plant in a month or two, the source told the newspaper. Sarwak is the largest state in Malaysia. (Reporting by Saeed Azhar; Editing by Tomasz Janowski)
